The SIA Door Supervisor training course runs over 7 days ,and is divided into 4 units and covers everything from the legal aspects of security to the latest physical intervention techniques.. At the end of the course, you will sit through a multiple choice examination. The course comprises of the following:
Unit 1: Common Security Industry Knowledge
- Awareness of the Law in the Private Security Industry
- Health and Safety for the Private Security Operative
- Fire Safety Awareness
- Emergency Procedures
- The Private Security Industry
- Communication Skills and Customer Care
Unit 2: Door Supervisor Specialist Module
- Behavioural Standards
- Civil and Criminal Law

- Arrest
- Drugs Awareness
- Recording Incidents and Crime Preservation
- Licensing Law
- Emergency Procedures
- Dealing with Vulnerable Individuals
- Dealing with Queues and Crowd
Unit 3: Conflict Management Module
- Avoiding Conflict and Reducing Personal Risk
- Defusing Conflict
- Resolving and Learning from Conflict
- Application of Communication Skills and Conflict Management for Security Guarding and Close Protection
Unit 4: Physical Intervention Skills Module
- Introduction to Physical Skills

Upon completion of the course, your proficiency in the following units will be assessed using the formats outlined below:
Unit 1: Working in The Private Security Industry
- A multiple-choice question exam consisting of 40 questions. Each question presents four options, and you are required to select the correct answer.
Unit 2: Working as a Door Supervisor
- A multiple-choice question exam with 45 questions. Similar to Unit 1, you'll need to choose the correct answer from the provided four options for each question.
Unit 3: Conflict Management for The Private Security Industry
- This unit involves a multiple-choice question exam comprising 20 questions. As with the previous units, you'll need to select the correct answer from the four options provided for each question.
Unit 4: Physical Intervention Skills for The Private Security Industry
- Unlike the other units, Unit 4's assessment is conducted by the course trainer through observations. You will be required to demonstrate the basic physical intervention techniques you've learned during the course.
All assessments will be administered within the designated course duration.
